Cayman Islands Are A Honeymooners Delight
The Cayman Islands has been voted one of the best honeymoon destinations by a top magazine.
Brides Magazine chose Cayman as 15th worldwide and an award acknowledging the fact was presented to officials during Caribbean Week in New York.
On 30 June, Premier and Minister of Finance, Tourism and Development McKeeva Bush received the award from team leader Carson Ebanks, chief officer of the Tourism Ministry.
Others attending the handover were the ministry’s Deputy Chief Officer Dalton Watler and Acting Director of Tourism Shomari Scott.
“Niche marketing has a special place particularly for Caribbean destinations which all have an abundance of sun, sand and sea.
“This award boosts our market strengths and proves that we are truly a top contender,” Mr. Bush said.
Mr. Ebanks added his observations.
“We are thrilled that the Cayman Islands has been selected as a recipient of this award and we welcome honeymooners to discover the destination for all we have to offer.
“Our enchanting islands have something to offer for all honeymooners – relaxation, adventure, nature, incredible epicurean experience and much more. For a week or a month, the Cayman Islands is a perfect place for honeymooners.”
The top destination, according to the magazine, was Hawaii.
The top 20 were voted for in conjunction with Signature Travel Network, which has more than 6,000 travel agents on its books. There were 10 Caribbean destinations in the final list. Seven Mile Beach was also praised by the magazine as one of the top-25 in the world.
“Okay, so it’s actually five and a half miles long, but who can count when dazzled by this seemingly endless crescent of talc-white sand and mind-blowingly blue water?
“Justly considered one of the Caribbean’s most beautiful beaches, it is truly relaxed: no pesky vendors or blasting music. More important, the water is transparent and irresistible,” read the magazine.
The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman was voted second in the magazine’s top five Caribbean resorts.
