The Cayman Islands’ Department of Tourism Wins Accolades
The Cayman Island's Department of Tourism (DOT) has won accolades at home and abroad which are evidence of the Islands' impressive international reputation as a leading tourism destination, reveals Caribbean land investment firm Crown World (http://www.crownworld.com).
The Hospitality Sales Marketing Association International group awarded the Cayman Islands a silver Adrian award for the Caymankind campaign in the United States, a U.S. advertising campaign which focused on the “unique spirit” of the Islands. The Adrian Awards recognise outstanding achievements in advertising and public relations within the tourism industry. On receiving the award Premier McKeeva Bush commented, “We are proud to have been recognised by the esteemed experts of the Hospitality Sales Marketing Association for our Caymankind campaign, which we feel encompasses everything that makes the Cayman Islands unique – from the friendliness of our people and our rich cultural heritage to our cosmopolitan style, stunning natural beauty and warm welcome, which we extend to those who visit our shores.”
The Department of Tourism was also named Sponsor of the Year at the Cayman National Cultural Foundation’s National Arts Awards. On this local award, Premier Bush said that “the Department of Tourism is beyond proud to receive this recognition” as he believes that the preservation of the Cayman national culture and heritage lies in the hands of the Cayman National Cultural Foundation.
These may be tourism industry accolades, but there are hard facts and figures behind these awards that have real relevance to the those with land investments in Cayman Islands. As the experts in land investments Crown World has previously reported here, overnight visitors to the Cayman Islands increased by more than 7% during 2011 when compared to 2010. Official statistics from the DOT revealed that more than 309,000 visitors flew in and stayed on the Islands last year, exceeding the Cayman government’s target of 302,000 and representing the best year for tourist arrivals in a decade, when 334,071 arrived in 2001. In December 2011 alone more than 31,000 air passengers arrived in Cayman, which was a 6.3% increase on the same month in 2010.
Booming tourism figures and an established and ever-growing international reputation as a sought-after tourism destination will always be of great interest to those investing in Cayman land for sale.
