Cayman Islands Ranked Best Caribbean Destination
The Cayman Islands has been named one of the top 25 vacation locations worldwide.
TripAdvisor’s annual Travellers Choice awards are voted for by readers and reviewers of the site and Cayman reached number 22 in the world destinations list.
“The farther you go from Grand Cayman’s busy docks, the more peace and quiet you’ll find. At Stingray City (actually a sandbar), stingrays swim alongside you in the tranquil waters. Closer to town, travelers report finding some of the best massage and spa services anywhere in the Caribbean,” read the site’s description of the destination.
The top three destinations for travellers were Cape Town, South Africa; Sydney, Australia, and Peru’s Machu Picchu.
Cayman was also named top destination in the Caribbean. The awards are calculated by the destination’s ranking as voted for by travellers plus popularity on the travel review site.
“Winning an accolade of this calibre is a huge testament to the beauty, quality and service that visitors experience when they visit our Islands,” said Acting Director of Tourism, Shomari Scott.
Premier McKeeva Bush added that it was ‘extremely gratifying and exciting’.
