Make an escape to Little Cayman
Marc Le Blanc, operations manager of Little Cayman Beach Resort, is constantly surprised when people from Grand Cayman say they have never visited the island. “So many people mean to go, but never get around to it, but first time they get here they love it.”
Le Blanc says they get visitors from all over the world, attracted by the real unspoiled beauty of Little Cayman and of course the diving, which includes The Bloody Bay Marine Park. The park is one of the world’s most famous dive sites because of the sheer coral wall that begins at 20 ft. and plunges to 6,000 ft.
But it’s not just about the diving; Little Cayman has retained much of its natural environment, with beautiful beaches and plenty of birds and rock iguanas, which refreshingly actually outnumber the island’s residents!
If you live on Grand Cayman now is a good time to visit Little Cayman because the Little Cayman Beach Resort is offering some promotional deals to Grand Cayman residents. The Resort provides high- end accommodation food and facilities in wonderful surroundings. The whole resort recently went through a full- scale renovation and the rooms look fabulous. Le Blanc explains: “The whole place was completely gutted and I mean completely gutted and the rooms are now four star and at the higher end spectrum of accommodation.”
The resort has three properties: the Conch Club, the Condominium and the Club.
The accommodation is made up of 40 rooms with Oceanfront or pool views. The facilities include a floodlit tennis and basketball courts, a fitness centre and games room. There is also a spa, offering therapies and beauty treatments.
Anything you want to do on the water you can from hiring snorkelling equipment, kayaks, chartering boats for fishing, diving expeditions to just messing about in a boat and when you have finished all that activity you will be looking forward to your food and it will not disappoint. Le Blanc says:“The gourmet buffet has a wide variety of different foods and is provided three times daily. We also make up picnic baskets if people wish.”
They offer Cayman resident rates all year round and currently have some special promotions. Le Blanc says at the moment they are gearing up for the World Cup and he reckons there is going to be a fantastic atmosphere at the resort. For football fans it sounds like it does not get better than this. “We are showing all the matches live with breakfast at the bar and replaying them at night on a big screen, “he says.
So if you want the opportunity to watch endless football, go diving or just relax in an unspoilt paradise with top accommodation it is all just a short flight away with Cayman Airways.
