Ocala to revitalize Downtown Square
The city of Ocala is constantly striving to improve and revitalize their municipal facilities and historic downtown for the benefit of locals and visitors alike.
With this in mind the council have announced that a new-and-improved Downtown Square is coming soon! Starting in June the historic ”heart of Ocala” will be undergoing minor improvements, which are expected to be complete by October 1st.
The renovation process will likely not cause significant interference with daily pedestrian movement and traffic circulation. Sidewalks and the frontage road will remain open, except during demolition operations, construction work or loading/unloading of equipment.
In order to provide a premier event venue, a permanent built-in stage will be attached to the gazebo with accessible ramps and steps. Maintenance issues with the center star and sound system will be addressed and corrected.
Delineated “spaces” within the space will be created, as well as clean lines of slight by altering vertical obstructions.
